Online workshop
Saturday 12th June 2020
10am to 12.30pm

Mentoring can be a vital source of development, learning and support for teachers, especially in the early stages of their careers. Its importance is illustrated by its role at the heart of the Department for Education’s Early Career Framework.

In this online workshop, we will share learning from recent research and practice focussed on mentoring early career teachers.  Through presentations and discussion, we will consider how we can support teachers, mentors and schools to gain the most from mentoring.

We hope that all those involved in mentoring of early career teachers, including mentors, school leaders and early career teachers themselves, will join us to share their experiences and join the discussion.

This event is organised as a partnership between Sheffield Institute of Education, part of Sheffield Hallam University, and the International Professional Development Association’s England committee.

The event is chaired by Lynsey Hunter, of Sheffield Institute of Education, one of the leads of the Education Development Trust’s Early Career Framework delivery.
