Teachers and Flexible Work Event

Event on 30th September 2021

Online event at 5-6pm on Thursday 30th September 2021

Teaching professionals, school leaders and other interested parties are invited to hear the findings of two research projects undertaken by Sheffield Hallam University about teachers and flexible work. The first, to be presented by Dr Katy Marsh-Davies, explored teachers’ experiences of flexible work during the COVID lockdowns. The second, by Dr Suzanne Brown, researched teachers working part-time and the impacts on careers.

Suzanne and Katy have recently published together in The Conversation about ways to make teaching more women-friendly post-COVID and are now embarking on research and publications about teachers, menopause, and its relationship with flexible working.

In the future Suzanne will be leading a practitioner network to explore challenges and share good practice around flexible work in schools, and will discuss this at the event.

The session will be hosted by Prof Cathy Burnett of the Sheffield Institute of Education.

This is an online event that will be conducted via Zoom. To participate, please register at the Eventbrite link below...
